CCSD’s Board Of Education Has Two Public Hearings, Transportation Facility Update, Job Description Revisions And More On Monday’s Meeting

This Monday evening will be the next Carroll Community School District Board of Education meeting. The agenda includes two public hearings. To start the meeting at 6:30, the board will hold a public hearing on the certified FY25 budget, followed by a public hearing on an amendment to the FY24 budget. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau says the amendment will not affect property taxes.

DLR Group, the engineering firm behind the design of the new proposed transportation facility, will attend and present a more detailed plan. This will bring the district closer to starting the construction phase, but Berlau says that will not be anytime soon.

The board will next move into hearing administrative and personnel reports, followed by approving donations of treats for Teacher Appreciation Week, policy reviews, requests from Carroll Area Child Care Center to use school buses for field trips this upcoming summer, and reviewing and approving previous agreements with surrounding schools. Action items on the agenda include approval of a deal with CESA and CEA regarding negotiations; the 2024 seniors are eligible to graduate in May and review handbook revisions. Berlau says during previous meetings, the board discussed revising job description details, specifically for the teacher associate roles.

The board will finish out the meeting by approving quotes for the Carroll Middle School classroom locks and additional cameras at the high school building to continue to promote safety, approving the certified budget for FY25, the FY24 amendment, reviewing the audit on FY23 and approving of a Geotechnical Investigation by Terracon Consultants of underground pipes below the ground of the proposed transportation building. The pipes will need to be identified before construction can officially begin. All of this will be presented at this upcoming Board of Education meeting this Monday starting at 6:30 p.m. at Adam’s Elementary School. The meeting is open to the public.
