There is nothing but a burned-out shell left of a vehicle that caught fire Friday night near Carroll. The Carroll Police Department and Carroll Fire Department responded to Kittyhawk Ave., just south of the recycling center, at approximately 10:51 p.m. to find the vehicle on fire. It is still unknown who owns the car, and an investigation into the entire incident is being conducted by the Police Department. This call was one of four that city emergency crews responded to on Friday night. Fire Chief, Greg Schreck, says they had two false alarms, one in the 600 block of East 18th Street at about 7:29 p.m. and a carbon monoxide false alarm in the 500 block of Clark Street at approximately 10:57 p.m. The other fire call came from a report that flames were seen on the rooftop at 102 W. 6th St. at approximately 9:46 p.m. They arrived to find the improper use of a charcoal and gas grill on the rooftop. The grills were extinguished and removed. No injuries were reported in any of these incidents.
