Iowa Senator Nate Boulton has only been in office since 2016, but that didn’t stop the 16th District Democrat from throwing his hat into the ring as a contender for the Governor’s race. On Thursday, over 60 activists announced their support for Boulton’s campaign. “Democratic activists have been the backbone of our grassroots campaign,” Boulton says. “We saw thousands of Iowan’s get involved in the political process this year by making their voice heard at the capital, showing up to legislative forums and contacting their local officials.” Boulton says he is honored that many of those activists are continuing resistance to the Branstad-Reynolds agenda by joining his campaign. Four local individuals are part of “Nate’s Running Team” and include Jason Lewis of Guthrie County and Jen Smith, Brian Smith and Jessica Zupp, all of Crawford County.
