This coming Saturday, the City of Lake View is joining forces with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Lake View Hometown Pride, the Black Hawk Lake Protective Association and the Lake View Community Club for shoreline clean-up of Black Hawk Lake. Participants will pick up trash, trim trees and remove volunteer tree growth in designated areas. Volunteers are still needed to help with the projects taking place at the Ice House Point shoreline, the Marina, the 30 Acres boat ramp, Witches Tower and all other public shorelines. Volunteers should gather at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 22 at the open shelter house in Town Bay. They will be dispersed to work sites from there. They will need to bring their own gloves, a brush lopper and perhaps even a chainsaw. Work will continue throughout the morning and lunch will be provided by Lake View Hometown Pride.
