One of the three accidents that occurred Tuesday morning took place on the railroad overpass on Highway 30, west of Carroll near Hawthorne Avenue. At approximately 5 a.m., the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene to find that 63-year-old David De Jesus Avalos of Westside had lost control on the icy overpass. His 2008 Nissan Titan slid into the guardrail, causing an estimated $4,500 damage to the truck and $1,000 to the bridge railing. Avalos was uninjured in the accident.
