Eleven fire departments from communities in Calhoun, Sac and Pocahontas Counties responded to a fire that destroyed the K.C. Nielsen John Deere dealership in Manson Sunday afternoon. Authorities report the fire is estimated to have begun at approximately 3 p.m. in the closed business on Eighth Street in Manson. Witnesses reported seeing the smoke from the large blaze for miles around and hearing some explosions coming from within the building. Firefighters were on scene into Sunday evening, and no cause of what may have started the fire has yet been determined.
