The Labor Day weekend was off to a great start for Deb Sievers of Coon Rapids as she collected $10,000 from the Iowa State Lottery Headquarters in Clive last Friday. Seivers claimed the ninth of 16 $10,000 prizes in the Golden Casino instant-scratch game. She bought the winning ticket at the Audubon Country Store. Lottery officials say that since the lottery began in 1985, players have won more than $3.5 billion in prizes and the lottery has raised more than $1.6 billion for state programs.
