Later this month a baton will be passed as three new Carroll Community School Board members take the reins from departing members LaVern Dirkx, Dan Tiefenthaler, and six year Board President Kim Tiefenthaler. With a total of sixteen years of service Kim Tiefenthaler says during his tenure past board members have all worked diligently to serve the students and the community.

Other ventures which Tiefenthaler is proud to have tackled include adding on safe entries to all district locations and building a top-notch bus fleet complete with good mechanics all while keeping a balanced checkbook.

Under new leadership, with members Brad Jorgensen, Gina Badding, and Jon Sampson joining the school board, Tiefenthaler says he’ll shift his focus on running his business once they’re sworn in, but he’ll miss serving CCSD.

The official handoff will take place on September 21 during the regular CCSD school board meeting at Adams Elementary School.
