ATTEN-HUT! Boot Camp For Women Coming To Manning

Main Street Manning and Drake University have entered into a partnership to develop a pilot program that offers assistance and addresses problems in a number of potential areas. This partnership has led to the introduction of a boot camp planned for January of 2016 in Manning; but this is not your run-of-the-mill type of boot camp. This will be a Start-up Business Boot Camp for Women, and organizers want to provide women who own businesses as well as those considering opening one in the four county area surrounding Manning a chance to get an introduction to what the entrepreneurial boot camp has to offer. Thursday, Oct. 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a “lunch and learn” session at the Warren Timmerman Shelter House in the Manning City Park to give an overview of the program. Manning Main Street Board President, Ron Reischl said they will preview several questions that will be addressed during the boot camp sessions.

The introductory lunch and learn will not only talk about how the Startup Business Boot Camp for Women can help answer those questions, it will also explain how the Entrepreneurship Centers are available to help anyone interested in building and growing their business. A boot camp graduate, Janet Bergeron, will be joining the Drake team in Manning. Bergeron, with Bergeron Consulting and the Iowa Insurance Accelerator, is also active in the Startup Sisters, a group of women who have attend the boot camp as well as others who have or are wanting to start a small business. For more information on the boot camp, follow this link. Space is limited and registration is required by Tuesday Oct. 13. A $25 registration fee will be collected at the door and includes a box lunch. To register, respond by email to mainstmanning@mmctsu.com.
