Earlier this week the Hillary Clinton Campaign celebrated the opening of an organizing office located at 223 W 6th Street in Carroll. During an open house Iowa’s Treasurer Mike Fitzgerald, who has served the state for 33 years, spoke to a crowd of around thirty people. He says his involvement in the Clinton campaign is due to his belief that she can get things done calling Clinton a, “tough fighter for all Democratic causes.”
Fitzgerald also spoke about Clinton’s stance on healthcare and education saying, “…she can take the fight to these Republicans, she will, and I’m excited about it.” Carroll’s Office Organizer Kate Magill, who moved to the area from Florida to oversee operations, says there is a lot of work to be done between now and the February caucus for Clinton backers.
When asked why Carroll was chosen as an organizing location Magill says the city is a great hub ideally located in-between Des Moines, Sioux City, and Council Bluffs and it also allows people access.
The Clinton office serves multiple counties including Carroll, Sac, Buena Vista, and Clay. For more information or to volunteer contact Magill at 941-928-4212 or at the groups Facebook Page.
