With the cold temperatures moving into our area already this month, it is not too early to consider what can be done to help others stay warm through the rest of the fall and winter season. From Monday, Oct. 5 and through Tuesday, Oct. 20th, you can bring new or slightly used clean coats, scarves, hats, gloves, mittens and other cold weather gear to the Des Moines Area Community College Carroll Campus. The Giving Warmth Coat Drive is sponsored by DMACC, Unity Point Health-Des Moines and UnityPoint Clinic. Other area drop-off locations included the DMACC Boone Campus and the DMACC VanKirk Career Academy in Perry. The Phi Theta Kappa chapters from DMACC will assist in the distribution of donated items.
