Greene County Deputies Respond To Two Accidents Saturday

Saturday, Oct. 31 was a busy one for the Greene County Sheriff’s office as they responded to a pair of two-vehicle accidents. The first report came in at approximately 9:48 a.m. and a deputy was dispatched to East Main Street and 12th Street in Grand Junction. A 2003 Pontiac Grand Am driven by 25-year-old Kimber Sue Murphy of Grand Junction was east bound on Main Street when she met a 1999 K1500 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driveN by 16-year-old Parker Louis Stoneburner of Ogden stopped in the roadway with no turn signal activated. Stoneburner then began to turn left into Murphy’s path. The Murphy vehicle sustained an estimated $1,500 in damages. There was little damage to the Stoneburner pickup, but he was cited for Unsafe Turn or Failure to Give Signal. The second occurrence was at approximately 2:35 p.m. at the intersection of A Ave. and 330th Street east of Coon Rapids. A 2003 Toyota Tacoma driven by 68-year-old Ralph Donald Baugher of Guthrie Center was northbound on A Ave. and stopped at a stop sign. As he continued north to cross 330th Street, he was stuck by an eastbound 2014 Ford pickup driven by 55-year-old John Leo Irlbeck of Audubon. No injuries were reported by either driver, but damage to the Irlbeck pickup was estimated at $14,000 and damage to the Baugher vehicle was an estimated $3,500. Baugher was cited for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign and Failure to Yield Right of Way at a Controlled Intersection.
