Carroll Mayor, Adam Schweers, will be stepping down on Monday and handing over his gavel to Dr. Eric Jensen, the new two-year term Mayor elect. Schweers has discussed what he has been proud of and the challenges he faced during his two terms as mayor. And in looking back, he is amazed at what the city has been able to do for the citizens.

Although Schweers says doesn’t know how we can do it better, he hopes leadership will continue to look at ways to market the wonderful things happening in Carroll. Our newer infrastructure enhancement and additions, the geographic locations and the partnerships with schools and hospitals makes Carroll an attractive place for residents and industry.

He added the other thing is to look at the things people do and see in our community; the amenities. Schweers said these are the types of things that keep people living here for 25 years instead of five years and we have tremendous potential in looking forward. What is going to be the thing that sets us apart? What is going to be the project that gets people asking how a community of that size can do something like that?

And all of these, Schweers said, are the kinds of ideas that will propel the people of Carroll into a progressive and productive future.
