On Saturday, Jan. 2, six Carroll County 4-H council members traveled to Des Moines to donate items and volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House. The project was initiated this past fall when members voted to collect items for the house and the families that stay there while their children are undergoing medical treatments. At the same time, the eleven-member team also decided to set aside time to travel to Des Moines to make a meal and do a variety of household projects. The Ronald McDonald House is a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children. Families are able to rest and decompress at the houses at no cost or for a small donation.
