The Audubon County Sheriff’s Office reported to the scene of a single-vehicle accident at approximately 1 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 14, on Highway 71 near 110th Street north of Audubon. Eighteen-year-old Brianna Lee Schwab of Audubon was southbound on Highway 71 in a 2005 Dodge Dakota when she said she hit a patch of ice. The vehicle entered the west ditch, rolled over landing on the top of the passenger side, then continued to roll, landing upright. Schwab and her passenger, 21-year-old Jayme Allen Brower of Defiance, were transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of injuries. Damage to the truck is estimated at $10,000. Schwab has been charged with Failure to Maintain Control and Brower is charged with Open Container. The Carroll County Sheriff’s office assisted at the scene.
