As the first order of business at this morning’s (Monday) Carroll County Board of Supervisors’ meeting, Magistrate Judge of the Second District of Iowa, Christopher Polking, swore in Ken Pingrey as the Sheriff of Carroll County.
Pingrey, who has been with the Carroll County Sheriff’s office for 16 years, served 10 of those as Chief Deputy. His appointment as Sheriff was recommended to the board of supervisors by Sheriff Doug Bass when he announced his retirement, which was effective Tuesday, March 15. Sheriff Bass was on hand at this morning’s ceremony to present Pingrey with the Sheriff’s badge. Photos of the swearing in can be found with this story on our website.
