Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City is recognizing volunteers and encouraging others to seek out imaginative new ways to engage their communities this week, during National Volunteer Week from April 10 through April 16. Several SMCH employees and volunteers joined Lake City Mayor, Tyler Holm, on Monday to sign the National Volunteer Week proclamation. Mary Ludwig, Director of Marketing for Stewart Memorial, says they want to thank the many SMCH volunteers that make a difference, but reminds us that this is not only the time to celebrate those individuals, but also to share ideas, practices and stories wherever they happen and to re-imagine the notion of citizenship for the 21st century.
