Feathered friends will help Carroll Library celebrate Earth Day

Kids can have a hootin’ good time at the Carroll Library this Saturday, April 23, with owl-themed activities celebrating Earth Day. The event will take place from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm with Library Mascot Dr. Whoot available for pictures. Kids can also join Dr. Whoot for an owl’s version of the hokey-pokey: the Whooty-Pokey. At 11:00 am Children and adults alike can learn more about Dr. Whoot’s feathered family through an owl artifact display and from three real-life owls presented by SOAR. Students and faculty from DMACC will also be on hand to read owl-themed books, and kids can create some colorful works of art on coloring sheets and outlines of t-shirts which will then be put on display at the library. Visitors will have an owl-out good time during the Earth Day celebration and are welcome to come-and-go during the event.
