Public Invited To Free Main Street Documentary In Jefferson

Jefferson Matters: Main Street is inviting everyone to a free viewing of “Urban Century: America’s Return to Main Street.” The documentary, filmed in 2014, is directly related to the goals of historic preservation and transformation of the Jefferson downtown district. Main Street President, Jamie Daubendiek, saw the movie last year at an Iowa Downtown Summit and was captivated. The film captures the economics behind a successful Main Street and is presented with an ease that will get people energized about downtown Jefferson. The invite for the Thursday, May 12, viewing at the Sierra Community Theatre includes lunches available from the Uptown Café for a free will donation. Lunches will be picked up at 11:45 a.m. for the noon showing. Terry Buschkamp with Main Street Iowa will lead a short discussion following the movie. Reservations are due by May 11, and can be made by following this link.
