CMS Technology Club members place in statewide HyperStream Competition

As part of the Iowa STEM Initiative Program student members of the Carroll Middle School Technology Club participated in a statewide virtual HyperStream competition where students created technology projects in categories such as Multimedia, Robotics, and Game Design. K-12 Technology Coach, Kelli Schulz says, “The CMS teams had exceptional projects and it shows with the final results released this week.”  The Tiger Techs-Team Blinker placed first in the Multimedia–Video category. Team members include eighth graders Grace Friel, Maddie Hacker, Jazmyn Muniz, and sixth grader Caden Stageman. This same group of middle schoolers also took first place in the Multimedia-Website category making it the second year in a row they’ve taken first place overall in both Website and Video. In the Multimedia-Music category sixth grader Eli Lee, as part of Team Hiro, took third place.

Sixth graders Mercedes Warnke, Dani Loneman, and Alanna Schuur, working together under the team name Robotic Nerds, took third place in the Robotics Bullfighter-Best Overall category while sixth graders Saige Quandt, Alyssa Brant, Treven Haberl, and Bryce Bowman, working as CMS Tiger Techs, took first place in the Robotics Bullfighter-Design & Build category. All members of the CMS Technology Club built their projects under the guidance of Schulz and club mentor John Pauli, who works as a Senior Process Engineer at Pella, during club activities both before and after school.
