A bridge replacement project over the East Nishnabotna River on Highway 71, about one mile south of Hamlin, will close a portion of the roadway beginning Tuesday, May 31. The contractor’s schedule indicates that section of the highway will be closed until mid-September. A marked detour will use Iowa Highway 44 to Kimballton, Iowa Highway 173 to Interstate 80 and Interstate 80 to US Highway 71.
