Jailed Man Leads Sac County Authorities To Buried Drugs

Thirty-five-year-old Matthew James Wessels of Sac City was being detained in the Sac County Jail on a probation violation warrant since Saturday, May 14, and on Tuesday, May 17, he told Sheriff’s officials he had something else he wanted to give to them. Wessels was transported to the 800 block of North 16th Street in Sac City, where he allegedly turned over two packages of what are believed to be Methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia. He then led authorities across the street, where he unburied additional Methamphetamine. Wessels turned over approximately nine grams of Methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $1,125. Wessels was charged on Monday, May 23, with Possession with Intent to Deliver over five grams of Methamphetamine—a Class B Felony. At the same time, Wessels was also charged with Delivery of Methamphetamine—a Class C Felony for allegedly selling the drug to a police informant in June of 2015. Wessels is currently being held in the Sac County Jail on a $135,000 cash bond.
