Carroll Council To Review City/Library Architect Recommendation And Third Street Storm Sewer Bids

The Carroll City Council will be holding their regularly scheduled meeting tonight, beginning at 5:15 p.m. in the council chambers on the second floor of City Hall. The council will review the recommendation of the Carroll Library/City Hall Project Consultant Selection Committee to retain OPN Architects of Des Moines to conduct assessments on the space available for relocation of city offices and the expansion of the library into office space in the current building. Once the council approves a firm, it is estimated the assessment will be completed in approximately 120 days and then design work for the necessary renovations at the Commercial Savings Bank Building on North Adams and City Hall can get underway. The council will also be reviewing a report of the bid opening to award the bid for the Third Street storm sewer improvement project, slated to get underway this construction season. Other business on the agenda includes a discussion on the transition for pedestrian walkways with the possible removal of traffic signals at Court and Adams Streets and a vicious animal appeal hearing.
