One person has died in a truck/ATV accident that occurred yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon in Rippey. At approximately 2:49 p.m., the Iowa State Patrol, Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Rippey Fire Department, Grand Junction Fire and Rescue and Greene County Emergency Services responded to the scene at the intersection of 2nd and Howard Streets. A 2007 Honda 300 ATV, driven by 78-year-old Keith Lavern Devilbiss of Rippey was traveling westbound on Howard Street and failed to yield the right of way at the uncontrolled intersection. Devilbiss struck the front driver side of a 2005 Ford F150, driven by 18-year-old Nicholas Carter Rice of Rippey, who was traveling south on 2nd Street. Devilbiss was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
