Educators from across Iowa are returning from the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference in Arizona that was designed to assist them with fitting agriculture into their curriculums. Fourteen individuals traveled to Litchfield Park, Ariz. on June 24 to join more than 400 attendees from all across the country to learn to use agriculture to teach science, social studies, language arts and more. “The conference is a great way to network with other passionate educators and bring new ideas back to Iowa,” said Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation Executive Director Will Fett. “Professional development and continued learning is a way for teachers to stay current with new material that will help their students.” One Iowa educator, John Seiser from Hamilton County, was even recognized for his work in implementing agriculture into his 4th, 5th, and 6th grade science classes. The National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference will be held again next year on June 20 to the 23 in Kansas City, Mo.
