The Department of Veterans Affairs has announced that the Carroll Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) at St. Anthony Regional Hospital has received a number one national ranking. Kristi Catrenich is the public affairs officer for VA Central Iowa Healthcare System, which includes the Carroll CBOC.
The designation was the result of surveys filled out and monitored by Press Ganey, an independent survey company with a focus on supporting health care providers in getting a better understanding of the entire patient experience.
This survey is done for many different healthcare facilities, for public and VA clinics alike across the country. The VA Central Iowa is one of the first healthcare systems to embrace Press Ganey, and they have seen a lot of improvement from having a tool that will help them interact in real-time with their patients. This recognition is an example of how well the assessments help them bring high-quality services to area veterans.
Catrenich said the VA is strengthened by having this immediate feedback and the tool that helps them serve all veterans.
The Carroll clinic serves approximately 1,600 veterans with their primary care, mental health, audiology, telehealth and a variety of other healthcare services.
