Carroll Kid’s Health And Safety Fair Promises Fun Activities, Fun Facts And Free Prizes

As the area gears up for all of the fun and activities scheduled for Carrollfest 2016, the kids should be getting every bit as excited for the Kid’s Health and Safety Fair that will cater to their interests and their sense of fun earlier in the day on Saturday, Aug. 6. Graham Park will be filled with vendors and booths from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and there will be no shortage of activities for kids—like how make UV sun and sand bracelets, learning how to prepare healthy snacks, having fun with physical fitness, water balloon tosses, a prize wheel, bubble blowing and jump rope contests—all while learning about health and safety. Carroll Police Sgt. Gary Bellinghausen says there will be a special area for kids to meet Carroll police, fire and ambulance department members, to tour a life-flight helicopter and to go through a smoke house to learn what to do in the event of a fire. They will also be looking at bicycle safety and some of the city ordinances describing the required equipment.

There will be a lot of giveaways at this year’s event, including bicycles and two season passes for the Carroll Rec Center. And, in keeping with bicycle safety, the first 500 kids who ride their bikes to the fair will get a free headlight along with free installation.

Again, the Kid’s Health and Safety Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Graham Park on Saturday, Aug. 6.
