No Major Injuries In Three-Car Glidden Accident

No major injuries were reported in a three car accident that took place on Highway 30 and 9th Street on the west edge of Glidden on Thursday, July 28. At approximately 8:21 a.m. the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to find a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country van, driven by 37-year-old Kara Lynn Winker of Glidden was stopped on Highway 30, westbound, to negotiate a left turn into the Casey’s convenience store parking lot. Also stopped behind Winker, was a 2002 Toyota Tacoma, driven by 37-year-old Paul Michael Costello of Jefferson. Thirty-six-year-old Brad Alan Davidson of Carroll approached the stopped vehicles from behind in his 2007 Kia Optima, and failed to stop. He rear ended the Costello vehicle, forcing it into the Winker van. There were no signs or reported sounds that Davidson attempted to brake the vehicle and he told authorities he was unsure as to why he did not see the cars stopped in front of him. Davidson reported minor injuries and was examined by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services at the scene, as were Winker and Costello. None of the parties sought further medical treatment at that time. There was an estimated $6,500 in damages to the Davidson vehicle, $3,500 to Costello’s and $1,000 to the Winker van. Davidson was cited for failure to maintain control.
