Kuemper head football coach, Chad Klein, and head softball coach, Erin Bohlmann, have recently completed training in the Play Like a Champion Today program through the University of Notre Dame. Klein and Bohlmann joined coaches from four other schools in the Sioux City Diocese to learn about emphasizing coaching as a ministry and all are challenged to bring this home to develop the whole athlete: physically, mentally and spiritually. This training will be used to help the coaches lead the student athletes into greater character education and spiritual development as the lessons are infused into their games, practices and interactions. Klein, Bohlmann and the coaches from the other schools will now take what they have learned and host Parent Like a Champion clinics in their own communities. In Carroll, the Parent Like a Champion workshop will be held this Sunday, Aug. 14, from 5:15 to 6 p.m. at the Kuemper High School gymnasium. All parents of middle school and high school athletes are strongly encouraged to attend. The fall sports informational meeting for parents will take place following the workshop at 6 p.m. For more information, contact Klein, Bohlmann or Activities Director, Tim Fitzpatrick, by using the contact information provided below.
