School Starts In Less Than Two Weeks For The East Sac Raiders

The start of classes for East Sac County Community School District students is less than two weeks away, and school staff has prepared the school and their curriculums to welcome them back. The buildings in the district saw some structural changes made over the break. Concrete work was completed on sidewalks around the facilities, and the bus barn saw a new concrete pad installed. Another noteworthy change this year is a switch to go greener says East Sac Superintendent, Barb Kruthoff.

The East Sac District also saw 10 new instructors enter the school district. Five of the new teachers are educating for the first time, and the other five are experienced educators but new to East Sac. They welcome a new high school Spanish teacher and several math and general instructors in this number. Kruthoff says there is one item in particular she is excited to get started at East Sac.

This program places instructors into leadership positions to help institute new teaching practices through professional development. Teachers will return Thursday, Aug. 18 to prepare for students, and classes for the East Sac Raiders begins Wednesday, Aug. 24.
