CCSD Purchases 700 New Chromebooks For Student Use

Technology is becoming increasingly available for students in the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) with the purchase of 700 new Chromebooks. The schools already have computers available, but Superintendent Rob Cordes wants to make them more available to younger students.

This now makes the ratio of computers to students one to one in grades three through 12. The total bill for the computers is $144,000 or about $206 per unit. Cordes says they have gotten tremendous lifetimes from these laptops.

He is extremely pleased with the success they have with students using these devices. Cordes mentions that this scale of purchase would not have been possible with any other type of computer.

Superintendent Cordes hopes they can increase the ratio of one to one computers in the school to include second grade students by the middle of the upcoming school year.
