There is no shortage of opinions on the actions of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick over recent weeks as he draws attention to the rift in the country between law enforcement and the black community. Kaepernick’s refusal to stand during the playing of the National Anthem before games and his display of socks with pigs wearing police hats is his way of protesting oppression in the country. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley believes that in the wake of the many instances reported in recent months of police brutality against people of color, law enforcement officials need to become more involved and active in a positive role.
Grassley added that when it comes to defraying the tensions, there is not any simple answer, and there is not any one answer that will completely resolve the issue.
