Next Monday’s Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education meeting holds a bit more significance than the average meeting. The board will meet at 6 p.m. in the Adams Elementary School Board Room, and they will be electing their officers for the upcoming school year. Both the president and vice-president positions will be selected and sworn in during the assembly. These officers serve a term of one year, and the board is also appointing committees for the 2016/17 school year. These committees handle issues facing the school and include the At-Risk Advisory Committee, the Affirmative Action Coordinators and several others. Time is set aside at the beginning of every CCSD Board of Education meeting for the public to address the board, but according to Iowa Code the board is not permitted to take action until an item is listed on the agenda and posted 24-hours before the meeting.
