Kuemper staff joined their school board and committee members on Tuesday, Sept. 20 to look to the future in answering the questions, “What do we want Kuemper to look like in five years? And, how do we achieve that?” The formal, long-range planning begins with the planning committee in collaboration with other committees looking at specific goals and strategies throughout the next year. The planning committee will be working with: Finance; Governance and Leadership; Buildings and Grounds; Catholic Identity; Academic Excellence; and Enrollment Management committees. Common visions to guide the groups through the planning process were identified at the meeting and include: continued financial stability; increased enrollment; continued improvement in the pursuit of academic excellence; fostering diversity and a welcoming spirit; and supporting the Catholic faith formation of Kuemper families. “Because of our mission of developing responsible, faith-filled citizens, it is important that we create a viable and strong future through thoughtful planning,” said Director of Enrollment Management, Susie Hulst. “We believe the community, and the world, are better because of Catholic education,” she added, “and so it’s important we keep the tradition of Catholic education flourishing.” The goals and strategies that are a result of the year-long planning process will be implemented within the next five years. At that time, the next round of long-range planning will begin.
