Stopping For A Rest Leads To Charges Against Two Carroll Residents

Two Carroll residents were cited for violation of a no contact order and aiding and abetting a violation of a no contact order, both simple misdemeanors, after stopping in a parking lot in Jefferson to sleep. The Jefferson Police Department reports that they spotted a suspicious-looking vehicle in the Shopko parking lot at approximately 1:31 a.m. yesterday (Wednesday) and spoke with 36-year-old Tamara Holmes-Cherry and 34-year-old Matthew Alan Cherry, who said they were just passing through town and were tired. The officer then learned there was a no contact order filed in Carroll County between the two, resulting in the charges.
