The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 30 and Ivy Ave. west of Carroll at approximately 7:47 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22. A 2014 Freightliner Semi and tractor trailer driven by 53-year-old James Dwight Anderson of Stanhope was westbound on 30 and changing lanes into the right-hand slow lane. A 2013 Kia Optima driven by 28-year-old Brittany Kay Miller was stopped at the intersection and Miller believed the semi was making a turn onto Ivy Ave. She pulled out onto Highway 30, striking the rear dual tires of the semi-trailer. No injuries were reported but there was an estimate $5,000 damage to the Miller Kia and $600 in damage to the trailer. Miller was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
