Sunset Drive Paving Project Running About A Week Behind Schedule

The Sunset Drive paving project in Lake View was scheduled to be finished Friday, but it does not seem like their efforts will meet that deadline. City Administrator, Scott Peterson, says very little work actually remains.

Peterson estimates that another week of work is needed from the company paving the road, Spring Lake Construction, before it can be called complete. Work to pave the previously gravel road began in earnest in mid-August and has remained under its bid cost of $188,140. Peterson and the 18 homeowners on Sunset Drive are glad to see the work progressing, and Peterson even more so because the city is only picking up 13 percent of the cost.

Sunset Drive stretches for a quarter mile on the east shore of Black Hawk Lake and connects to East Shore Drive on both its northern and southern ends.
