The Iowa State Patrol assisted the Greene County Sheriff’s Office with a single-vehicle accident at approximately 11:28 p.m. Sunday evening in the 600 block of U Ave. on the west side of Grand Junction. Nineteen-year-old Paloma Perez of Perry was driving a 2004 Ford southbound on U Ave. when a deer ran in front of her vehicle. In attempting to avoid hitting the deer, Perez lost control and ended up driving into the east ditch and striking a building site driveway. Perez was uninjured but her vehicle is reported to be a total loss.
