A Carroll teen was transported to Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) in Lake City following a single-vehicle accident on Saturday evening. At approximately 6:01 p.m., the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to find that 17-year-old Paige Marie Schultz, who was driving northbound on Timber Ave. north of Glidden in a 2002 Saturn, reportedly hit the shoulder of the road. She overcorrected to return to the roadway and the vehicle slid out of control. Schultz entered the east ditch going backwards, and the impact caused the Saturn to flip over onto its top. There was an estimated $5,000 in damage to the vehicle and Schutlz was charged with failure to maintain control. Carroll County Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene.
