Just this past weekend, the Carroll Police Department received a report that the rear window of a pickup truck belonging to 21-year-old Blake Edward Gray was shot out while sitting in the driveway of his residence on West 10th Street. Since then, the Carroll Police Department has received six more reports of similar damage done to residences and vehicles. On Monday, Nov. 14, a front window was shot out with a bb or pellet gun at 1747 North Main Street and on Tuesday, a residence window at 413 Lynn Street was shot. Last night, four reports were received, one from a resident who is unsure of when the damage was done to a vehicle but reported at approximately 2:15 p.m. and another incident in which a camper window was shot out at 901 Salinger Ave., reported at approximately 3:53 p.m. Then last night, three more vehicles had windows shot out, with police notified at approximately 7:30 and 8:12 p.m. The first was reported at the Burger King on Highway 30 west while the other two occurred in the parking lot of the 712 Youth Group Center in the K-Mart plaza. This brings the total to more than 30 officially-reported incidents of bb or pellet gun vandalism since July. Pastor of Central Church of Carroll, Ryan Gallegos, made another appeal to the general public after last night’s vandalism, urging people to contact authorities as someone has to know something about these acts. On Oct. 20, the 712 Youth Center was the target of the same type of vandalism when the front windows were shattered. After that incident, Gallegos offered a reward for information leading to the arrest of the vandal. The Carroll Police Department has added to Gallegos’ reward for a total of $2,000. Anyone with information that will be helpful in this investigation is asked to contact the Carroll Police Department at 792-3536.
