The Lake View City Council approved a location for the Lake View Hometown Pride Committee latest project earlier this month. A splash pad is a space that has no standing water but does allow for children and park users to enjoy water to cool off in the hot summer months. The original plan for the splash pad was to place it in Speaker Park near the Pier 25 Playland, and that location has now been confirmed to be its future site. The Hometown Pride Committee is moving forward on plans to fund some of the projects cost through private financing and fundraising. A date for the project’s completion hasn’t been set yet, but the Hometown Pride Committee President, Tami Moeller, estimates the project to be finished in the next two years.
