The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education voted to add new buses to their inventory during the next school year. The district’s transportation committee met earlier this month to discuss the status of the vehicles currently being used, and Superintendent Rob Cordes reported to the board what the committee found.
The buses are estimated to cost $90,000 each. The buses will not be delivered to the district at the same time. Instead, they will be spaced out to be delivered in pairs nearly a half year apart.
The district is separating the bus purchases out for cash flow reasons. If split into two separate years, the district will have collected a portion of their revenue for the year to pay for each pair of buses in the same time span as receiving the vehicles.
