Manning Holiday Tradition Starts With A Lighted Parade Friday Night

Manning’s annual traditional welcome to the Christmas season, Wiehnachtsfest, will be held Friday, Nov. 25. Committee chair, Megan Reis, says they began planning for this year’s event in late September and early October with lining up participants, advertising and sponsors. That work will all pay off on Friday as the celebration starts at 6 p.m. with a spectacular show.

The Manning Community Band will be on Main Street providing musical accompaniment for the parade and Reis said many other activities are planned for every member of the family.

The entire community of Manning is invited to turn on their Christmas lights that night, and the committee has made arrangements for people to get a chance to travel throughout town to see the displays.

Shoppers can also register to win on of 12, $100 Chamber Bucks prizes through the Chamber of Commerce Christmas drawing.
