The City of Carroll will be holding a public meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 6, to view and discuss two construction projects that will be scheduled for the 2017 construction season. The first project will be the hot mix asphalt (HMA) resurfacing of Third Street, from U.S. 71 to Grant Road. This will include patching and some limited curb and gutter work, sidewalk replacement, pavement scarification, asphalt overlay and other associated work. The second project is the recreational trail improvements in two segments, the first on Third Street from Whitney Street to Carroll Street and then up Carroll from Third to Fifth Street. The second segment is from Veteran’s Park on Grant Road to Eighteenth Street and Edgewood Drive. The proposed work includes grading, subgrade preparation, concrete trail paving and other associated tasks. The meeting will begin at 5:15 p.m. in the second-level council chambers at City Hall. For questions about the Third Street resurfacing project, contact Director of Public Works, Randy Kraul, and for questions about the trail improvements project, contact Parks and Recreation Director, Jack Wardell.
