Coon Rapids Is Doing It Big With Christmas In A Small Town

The community of Coon Rapids really knows how to put on a celebration, and they have outdone themselves with plans for this Saturday’s Christmas in a Small Town event. In addition to shopping that includes drawings for grand prizes, there are contests, games and crafts for kids of all ages, the avenue of trees at the Coon Rapids Municipal Utilities lobby, vendor show from 2 to 6 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home, Santa’s Workshop at Chuck’s Bar and Grill from 2 to 4 p.m. and a tree lighting ceremony on Main Street at 6:30 p.m. There will be plenty to eat at the American Legion Soup and Sandwich Supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and during that time, kids can meet with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the American Legion as well. Guests can stroll the sidewalks of town and read the names of loved ones on personalized luminaries and head to Frohlichs SuperValu to bring some holiday joy to an area child by picking a name off the Giving Tree. Then at 7 p.m. everyone is invited to come together for some sounds of the season at the Pale Moons Christmas concert on Main Street. More information on the Dec. 3 activities along with a map can be found below.
