The Iowa State Patrol reports that a woman and a teen were killed in a collision with a semi tractor-trailer in Sac County on Wednesday evening. The accident occurred at approximately 7:25 p.m. at the intersection of county roads M43 and D15 east of Schaller. Thirty-six-year-old Vanessa Cabrera Mora of Odebolt was driving north on M43 in a 2006 Ford Freestyle and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with D15. She struck the eastbound semi, driven by 69-year-old George Kibby of Sioux City. Mora and one of her passengers, 15-year-old Christopher Comacho of Odebolt, were killed in the collision. Another passenger, nine-year-old Prince Miramontes of Odebolt suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Omaha, Neb. Schaller Fire and Rescue, Schaller Emergency Medical Services, the Sac County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) Vehicle Enforcement department assisted the Iowa State Patrol at the scene.
