Bill Fish and Norm Englund, both Masons, talk about a very special tradition hosted by their organization every year, the Christmas Day dinner at the Signet Lodge in Carroll on Highway 71 north. Fish and Englund said they anticipate serving a large number on that Sunday afternoon.
Both men wanted to make it clear there are no special requirements for attending the free dinner.
For those who cannot make it to the lodge, the Masons have made arrangements to have meals delivered to them.
From the 21st through to Christmas Day you can call 712-830-2803 to request a delivery. Though they generally get a good showing of volunteers, Fish and Englund say volunteers are always needed. One thing they never get enough of are people to clean up afterward. They say the people and businesses have really made this a community activity.
Again, the Masons of Signet Lodge #264 in Carroll will be serving a complimentary Christmas dinner to anyone who would like to attend at noon on Sunday, Dec. 25. For those unable to make it to the lodge on Highway 71 north, they can call RSVP at 792-4212 until 11 a.m. on Dec. 21 for delivery requests, after that, call 712-830-2803 up until noon on Dec. 23 to request a delivery.
