The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office conducted 10 interviews of candidates to fill the deputy position left open with the death of Deputy Bill Croghan last fall, and Sheriff Ken Pingrey has announced that an offer has been made and accepted. Jake Shirbroun, a native of Coon Rapids is coming to the Sheriff’s Office from the Coon Rapids Police Department and will begin his first day of work on Monday, Jan. 16. Pingrey said it is an added bonus that Shirbroun is already a certified officer.

Shirbroun started his law enforcement career with the Coon Rapids department and has been with them for two years. Pingrey said he has military ties as well.
