The Carroll County Compensation board met Tuesday, Jan. 10, and board member, Mike Franey, said they had heard many compliments about the county staff. Franey also presented an annual increase recommendation cap to the Carroll County Board of Supervisors this week as they work to establish annual salary adjustments for the county’s elected officials.
After a discussion on keeping increases on par with union contracts, Supervisor Dean Schettler suggested they go slightly above the union increase to 2.75 percent for all elected officials, but excluding the supervisors. Neil Bock said he understands why Schettler had proposed the higher amount, and then explained why he was in favor of keeping the increases on par at 2.7 percent.
The board did approve a 2.7 percent increase for county elected officials with a vote of four in favor and one, Dean Schettler against. They also approved a one percent increase for the Board of Supervisors. Employee salary increases will be discussed at the next meeting on Monday, Jan. 30 beginning at 9 a.m. in the board room at the Carroll County Courthouse.
