Students and staff from Kuemper Catholic Schools placed a plaque marking the year on their nearly completed field-house Friday afternoon. Kuemper broke ground on the 26,000 square foot, $1.6 million project in April last year and are anticipating it to be ready for use by mid-March. The original New Year’s Day completion date was delayed by high levels of moisture in the concrete which prevents installation of the Mondo rubberized flooring, similar to the type used in the Carroll Rec Center. All that remains after the flooring is finishing touches like painting walls and hanging doors. Photos of the work in progress and plaque installation can be found with the gallery included below this story.
